Create up to 5 icons.
When posting, tag it with challenge 89: letter C characters & your username. Ask for a username tag if you don't have one.
Post the URLs of your icons.
Fandoms can include drama, movies, animation, historical, fantasy etc. that can be considered as a period piece.
Characters in modern shows dressed up in period clothing do not count unless they have time travelled to the past or are under any similar circumstances..
Icons submitted must be NEW and never posted before.
Icons MUST be 100px by 100px. Animation will only be allowed when included in a challenge.
Each fortnight a challenge post WILL be put up with a theme.
Participants will have TWO WEEKS to make and submit their icons.

The theme for June is:
SUPERNATURAL
For this coming month, we are going to be making icons of anything that is supernatural.

I know it's early to be posting about our June battle, but I just started a rewatch of Teen Wolf.
So, I had the idea it would be a great idea for a battle!
Icon characters like werewolves, vampires, witches, wizards, etc.
You could also icon shows about the supernatural like for example the show Supernatural.
Have Fun! :)

Challenge Thirty-Nine: Tons of Textures

For this challenge your icons must feature at least one of the provided textures linked below used in a way that is visible (fake background, frame/edges, screen layer decoration, coloring enhancement, overlay layer etc). You can adjust the textures however you like but you must use at least one of the provided/linked textures on your icons.

ORIGINAL RULES - for reference only

Shire Icontest Rules:
♣ You may enter up to 5 icons.
♣ You may use textures, brushes, blending and/or text. Anything but animation.

♣ Remember: You may only use an image 3 times and this includes any variations or blends done.

♣You may use any images from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogy films on your icons.
♣ As always you may use screen caps, stills or character pictures.
♥ suggestion: have fun!

NEW RETRO_ICONTEST RULES - mandatory

As usual, the fandom restriction - LOTR and The Hobbit in this case - does not apply. Any fandoms (and stock) welcome. But in case you do like to use the fandoms, there's a list of galleries above, some of which still work (I checked).

At least one of the provided textures has to be used, of course. If you have trouble downloading the textures from DeviantArt (or the first two sets from LJ), let me know and I can post a selection of textures from those sets for you, like luminousdaze offered to do.

The new theme is...

For this year's MerMay inspired challenge, I made some all new color palettes using Coolors, from The Little Mermaid and other Disney faves. The other part of the challenge is an oceanic theme throwback.

Option A.
Mer-Movies Color Palettes
Part 1. Pick-A-Palette Pair
Pick one (and only one) pair of the seven color palettes below and create your icons using the five or ten palette colors.

Color Palette Challenge Directions
1. Please choose one pair of palettes per person.
You will get ten different colors to use, though a few of the palette sets have similar colors.
2. Please include in your post the list number of the pair of palette you chose.
You can choose both options A and B for different icons.
Example: Make 2 color palette icons and 3 icons on the challenge 157 theme.

Please, include in your post the number (from the list) of the palette pair that you chose.

When you enter, if you want, you may hotlink to the palettes using the thumbnail image codes from the ImgBB page.

Neptunian 2
This a sequel/do over of challenge 157. No color palette is required for option B.
