Re-Incarnation

flirty_ainoI'm posting here so that the new icontest communities I've joined don't think I'm a bot.
This is a long walk, but here's a shot.
Livejournal was my bread-and-butter from about third grade plus. All the communities, all the fandoms - it grew with me and then I grew out of it. (Fun fact - lived through strikethrough and just....didn't notice. Really had the blinders on, just swooped right past me)
But the main thing was icontests. I never did very well in them, but they were my main draw. Got REAL familiar with Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop (copies of copies from three computers ago at the time) and I loved it.
And then everybody went to tumblr and that opportunity kinda......disappeared. You can't really do "submissions" on tumblr. And there didn't seem to be any body to fill the void. Except, there totally was, cuz I had forgotten that dreamwidth had existed. So here I am, hoping to jump back into the icontest pool again and see if GIMP is as good as my brother makes it out to be.
